We are now open Saturday mornings for urgent care!

FLU VACCINE INFORMATION
We have received more H1N1 flu vaccine and are scheduling appointments for administration. Please call for our available appointments. We also have seasonal flu vaccine available, which can be administered at the same time as the H1N1 flu vaccine.

Commonly asked questions
Does my child need to get two H1N1 vaccines this year?
Since this is the first season that children have received the vaccine, all children up through age 9 need 2 vaccines, one month apart, to get complete immunity.

My child already had the swine flu (or presumed H1N1). Does he need the vaccine?
Yes, we are recommending that those that had the flu still be vaccinated, as the vaccine and the type of the H1N1 that they were infected with may be slightly different. However, since your child is at lower risk than others, we would prefer that you wait until more susceptible children are immunized.

Are you recommending the vaccine?
Yes we do! And we are immunizing our children according to the given guidelines!

Has the H1N1 vaccine been pushed to market too quickly and not studied enough??
Every year the seasonal vaccine is developed quickly to contain the strains that are thought to be most likely to circulate this season. The H1N1 is just another strain, that emerged too late to be contained within the seasonal flu vaccine. The seasonal flu vaccine changes every year, and year after year it has been safe.

Is there still a seasonal flu vaccine shortage?
We are still waiting on shipment of some of our preparations of seasonal flu vaccine. Our suppliers have had to slow production and delivery of the seasonal vaccine in order to get the H1N1 into our clinics. We still anticipate that we will get our seasonal flu vaccine in time to immunize for the emergence of the seasonal flu, which is typically late November.
